HOA LU & TAM COC - 1 DAY TRIPS

Hoa Lu has been known as the 10th-century capital of Dai Co Viet - an ancient Vietnamese Kingdom. The mountains and sea are combined to make Hoa Lu a scenic landscape. Near Hoa Lu is Bich Dong grotto, considered as the second most picturesque one in Vietnam. Imagine how interesting it is when flowing along the stream by small boats, going through wonderful tunnels and caves and seeing many ancient temples.

Depart at 8:00am from your hotel in Hanoi. After 2hrs drive we arrive in Ninh Binh Province. Our first visit is the former capital Hoa Lu where remains Dinh and Le Kings' temples, the two heroes who lived in 10th century and chose Hoa Lu to build the citadel of the capital city. From time to time, archaeologists have excavated buried parts of this citadel with rusty weapons and ceramics. The temples are said to be built on the old foundation of their original palaces in 11-12 th centuries and restored in 17 th century.

Proceed to Tam Coc tourist center for lunch at local restaurant. Getting on small rowing boats to travel along the canals amid local villages, green fields and natural beauty with limestone peaks, we are enjoying the "Ha Long On Land". After 02 hours through 03 caves, we row back to the boat quay. Take a short bike to Bich Dong cave, which was conferred by a King the title "Vietnam's second most beautiful grotto" and which is some 2 km from Tam Coc. Climb up the Ngu Hanh Son Mountain (Buddha's palm), charmed by the marvelous scenery offered by the mountains, rivers and pagodas... Return to Ha Noi and arrive at around 17:30pm.
